About Gödöllő

Gödöllő in Pest county, on the coast of the Rákos brook, from Budapest onto 30 kilometres, Gödöllő Hills lie in his valley. Gödöllő bought in the narrower meaning an pool-like, wash tub shaped pit in Rákos völgyében, on the meeting dot of four valleys.

Gödöllő wooded, with good air, lies on beautiful country providing a view. He may say thank you for his attractiveness to his natural conditions and his good geographical position in the settlement ring surrounding the capital. Gödöllő Hills’ forests through centuries aristocratic, they were royal hunting grounds.

Besides the training programme, young journalists will have the chance of visiting the historical sites of the town. Since Gödöllő is located next to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, it worth a trip to go and see the famous monuments of the capital or spend an evening exploring the city.

How to get to us from Budapest:
  • By car:
    30 km from Budapest on the M3 motorway
  • By HÉV:
    Gödöllő is also connected to Budapest by the HÉV commuter rail. The station is located at Örs Vezér tere, just outside the last stop of the red metro line. HÉV trains are less comfortable, cost slightly more, and take slightly longer to reach Gödöllő than the normal train, but as a plus you’ll be dropped off closer to the downtown. Tickets can be bought at Örs Vezér tere or from the inspector on the train. (45 min)
  • By bus from Budapest Népstadion VOLÁN coach terminal (30-50 min)
  • By train from Budapest Keleti railway station (40 min)
